See you soon! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.๐Ÿ’•

Let me say this from the beginning, this post will be a farewell post.๐Ÿ˜”

I created this blog for the course Instructional Technologies and Material Design in English Language. At first, I saw it just as an assignment and something I had to do. But things didn’t go that way. With every post I wrote, I started to feel more connected to this blog. I began to feel like a real blogger. I was a bit shy when writing my first posts, but now I enjoy writing them. This blog helped me relax during the busy and stressful times of life. Besides my assignments, I always shared my own thoughts here, too. So, let’s take a look back at what we’ve done this term.

First, we talked about the role of technology in 21st-century education. Then, one by one, I completed many tasks using technology.
Our first assignment was to create an infographic. When I first heard the word, I was surprised and asked, "What is that?" But after learning, I realized it wasn’t hard at all. I saw that infographics can be a useful tool in language education. If you haven’t seen my infographic, click on the word infographic.

Next, I made a podcast. We’ve all probably listened to a podcast, but how many of us have made one? Even though this task reminded me of some difficult things, it was still an amazing experience. You can learn more by reading my post “Educating not just minds but also hearts.” Just click the title!

Then, we created a digital story. This was an amazing experience! It was a group project, and we had so much fun while doing it. We chose a topic for our story, created characters with Pixton, edited it with Canva, and finally shared it on YouTube. I felt like both an editor and a YouTuber!

Our next task was online collaborative writing. We made a KWL chart for this. I had never heard of that before, but now I know that Padlet can be used for group and online work. Again, I want to thank my group members, Zeynep Ceyda Bozkurt and Nehir Gรผler Durur. You can visit their blogs by clicking their names.

Lastly, I had a voice chat with ChatGPT. Working on an assignment with AI was interesting and a bit unusual. I also noticed some missing parts in the voice chat feature. You can read all about it in my final post.

So, this long and busy term has come to an end. To be honest, I feel a little sad because I really loved this course. Not just as a class, but as an opportunity to grow as a future teacher. Before this course, I thought using technology in education was only about videos and slides. But it’s so much more than that!

When I become a teacher, I will definitely use technology in my lessons in different ways, giving tasks based on my students' needs and interests. I will also share the experiences I had in this course.

Finally, I want to thank our teacher, Gรถkรงe Kurt, for making us more aware, helping us become active learners, and always valuing our ideas. She has been my idol since the day I first saw her, and she always will be.๐Ÿ’—

Take care, and goodbye for now ๐Ÿ‘‹
